Felicity Fitzroy is delighted when she receives an invitation from her good friend Jane Austen to visit her in Bath. Despite living in domestic bliss in Derbyshire with her husband Max, Felicity longs to see Jane – as well as partake in the social events of the Season.
But when Max’s sister-in-law hears about the trip, she decides it’s the perfect opportunity for her daughter Lucinda to find a suitable husband, and Felicity and Jane end up playing chaperone. However, protecting young impressionable Lucinda from the amorous gentlemen of Bath proves a difficult task – especially when notorious womaniser Dorian Hart catches sight of her at the Pump Room.
On the prowl for his next conquest, Dorian lavishes attention on Lucinda, and she immediately becomes besotted with him, much to Felicity and Jane’s dismay.
Fearing for her niece’s reputation, Felicity takes the matter in hand and makes him an offer she thinks he can’t refuse. But the plan backfires when Dorian decides that seducing feisty Felicity will be much more fun than taking her money.
With Max miles away and a devilishly handsome rake determined to bed her, can Felicity’s marriage vows stand firm against temptation? Or will she return to Derbyshire with a secret to hide?
